Most of us have heard about the vast price difference between UK RHD and German LHD used later model Porsches. Equally, most of us have heard, too, the horror stories about importing such vehicles. Ex-major accident damaged cars (not saleable in Germany), altered mileages, falsified service records and, worse, stolen cars and cars with dubious or wrong mechanics.

Just like anywhere else in the world, high value cars attract the criminal element and so it is vitally important that these cars come through the right channels.

Why Pay 40% More for RHD?

When considering the average price of a fully documented, main Porsche agent serviced from new, near perfect condition LHD German Porsche (and don't forget, the everyday discerning German used Porsche buyer is every bit as particular as the UK buyer) is in the region of 40% less than the RHD UK equivalent, anyone could be forgiven for thinking that there must be a catch.

In reality, there is no catch. Germany is where these cars are built and German people love them, therefore they are more plentiful there than they are in the UK. Add to that the well-publicised fact that all cars in Germany are much cheaper than in the UK when new, plus the favourable Sterling / Euro exchange rates that are frequently achieved, and you can understand why there are some real bargains to be found with Fuchs Porschebroker.
